My 9.1 Pro boxed set finally arrived. Is there any advantage to repeating the install using the materials from the boxed set? My original install was from CDs burned from downloaded .iso files. Cheers, Gordon Keehn

I don't think there can be. You've already done your duty by paying out for the boxed set :-) - so long as the isos you downloaded (which can't have been official SuSE ones) were genuine isos of the cds. The paranoid might point out that the isos could have been interfered with by their maker in ways prejudicial to you, but I suppose you have to take a view on the paranoia thing. Unless I had the crown jewels on the machine I wouldn't bother re-installing. Well, assuming the ISOs were from genuine CDs and not tampered with, there won't be much difference.

When you did the load from the downloaded iso files did you run the online update? If so then reloading from the CD's would be a step backward into some broken and/or old stuff. Good deal buying the boxed set -- we need to show financial as well as philosophical support of Linux if it is to survive and thrive. -- Blessings ... dmc West Central Florida ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This E-mail was generated using SuSE 9.0 Linux & Mozilla.
