Downloaded the Epson scanner package for V300 scanner: iscan-gt-f720-bundle-2.30.4.x64.rpm and followed the directions for installing it, using the install.sh package. That worked out well, for the Epson WP-4530 all-in-one and it accesses the V300, but something is wrong with the V300 and it only produces a black rectangular blob. I have to see if there is a maintenance manual for that, since I want to be able to print from Ektachrome slides. Anyway, XSane now works as it should, and finds both scanners. In the meantime, I also bought Vue-Scan, but it doesn't like to let me fill out the 3-element registration. I guess that's money wasted.
