OT - how do I use "dd" on all files within a directory?
Hi there, guys and gals :) I am using ksh on AIX 5 at work as well as OS/390 We are developing an app to archive mainframe binary data to optical disc on an AIX server. I have learned how to use the "dd" command to "conv=unblock" the binary data back to multiple records as stored on the mainframe. However, I need to be able to do this for all files in a directory. I've tried using "find -exec" but the "if=" and "of=" will not allow me to use "{}". A half-hour's search of www.shelldorado.com came up short Anyone got any ideas? please reply to sylvanus.currie@british-energy.com
