[opensuse] file neither installed or not
Strange situation; I tried to install master pdf editor 5.rpm via apt-get install, which should have worked, I believe, but it has left a situation where the app is neither installed nor not installed, depending on where you look! /home/doug/Downloads/-rw-r--r-- 1 doug users 15498218 May 8 16:19 master-pdf-editor-5.4.38-qt5.x86_64.rpm So I tried to remove it: linux-4qnb:~ # rpm -e master-pdf-editor-5.rpm error: package master-pdf-editor-5.rpm is not installed linux-4qnb:~ # ^C Then, looking at just one directory tree: linux-4qnb:~ # cd /opt linux-4qnb:/opt # ls -la total 0 drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 152 May 8 16:21 . drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 172 Sep 11 2019 .. drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 66 May 31 2019 epson-inkjet-printer-201113w drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 10 Jun 9 2019 google drwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 82 Jun 9 2019 lightscribeApplications drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 48 May 8 19:09 master-pdf-editor-5 <<<<<<<< linux-4qnb:/opt # cd ./master-pdf-editor-5 linux-4qnb:/opt/master-pdf-editor-5 # ls -la total 0 drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 48 May 8 19:09 . drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 152 May 8 16:21 .. drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 30 May 8 16:21 fonts drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4 May 8 19:09 lang drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 30 May 8 16:21 stamps drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 12 May 8 16:21 templates And there are 15 directory entries for this app which is "not installed" !!! So, how do I get rid of it, and more important, is it possible to clear this up and then make it work? I need a pdf EDITOR-- a real editor which allows me to type into a form which was received in pdf format. (I know there's a way to install files via zypper, but I'm not sure how; apt-get install has always (up to now) worked.) Sorry for the mess; now I need assistance, please! --doug -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

No joy. I wound up at File Manager Super User and found all the files and erased them one by one. AFAIK, it's gone. Now I'm back to the original problem: I need a pdf EDITOR, not just a reader.
