Help backup Suse 9.2
I wonder if any one can help I have SuSE 9.2, and I am trying to use yast2-backup from yast but when I try it doesn't give me the choice of tape only CD, floppy, and ZIP I can backup from tape with the command "find / -depth -print | cpio -ocvB -O /dev/st0" but it backs up everything and when I have tried to restore, it just corrupts the system ( I guess it restores files it shouldn't) so I thought the yast backup might be better. Any help would be greatly appreciated I have looked through the documentation and even tried on the web including the Suse center John.
Hi I wonder is it possible to direct the output/file from yast2-backup (system backup on yast centre) to tape or cpio then to tape rather than having to create the backup then using cpio to archive to tape? Regards John.

I don't like yast backup, but if I remember correctly it just creates a tar.gz archive you have to save elsewere manually. Remember it is not a complete backup. - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFDHeR/tTMYHG2NR9URAqKtAJ0ZWXwN3L7omxtQ+d1wfGRGLw2+9QCfW6eJ kKp5vkFHhxyBC9bZB/WD6T8= =d9ih -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
