I've just upgraded from 5.2 to 5.3 and come across a small problem. Previously, when logged in as myself, I could su to root and start an application from within an xterm, for example tkdesk. This is handy for browsing and selecting system files that require me to be root to examine or edit them. Since upgrading however, when I su to root and try to run an application from an xterm I get: stokes:/home/phil # Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server application-specific initialization failed: couldn't connect to display ":0.0" I seem to remember this cropped up when I first installed linux, but I can't for the life of me recall what I did to overcome it. I guess it must be a setting in an X related config file somewhere. Can anyone help please?
