I'm getting an ATI All-In-Wonder 8500DV, but I notice that they only have drivers up through 4.2.0, Suse 8.2 uses 4.3.0. What would be involved in downgrading my XFree86 to 4.2.0 - or is there a better way?

Michael, I think you will find that the 8500 is very well supported with 4.3! I would not downgrade as you will lose any 3d capabilities that 4.3 gives you. XFree86 4.2 only provided 2d for the 8500, so don't you think 4.3 would be a better choice for your new card? :o) Patrick -- --- KMail v1.5.1 --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.2 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...

Hi Patrick I also have an ATI All-In-Wonder 8500DV card. I used the experimental 4.3 driver from http://gatos.sf.net. It's working well for me but I haven't tried 2D or 3D yet. Jerome
