Re: [SLE] Linux correlate of Windows' Ctrl-Alt-Del
Look into using the Magic SysRq key. For explanation, read the file sysrq.txt and make sure ENABLE_MAGIC_SYSRQ is set to "Yes" in YaST (or YaST2). At 02:16 PM 3/19/2001 -0800, you wrote:

ps -e will show you all the process that are running and you can issue a kill to the number associated with the process. If X has frozen its probably best to ctrl-alt-F1 to a terminal screen and do it from there.

Sometimes Linux appears to come unstuck. In windows, I used to use Ctrl-Alt-Del to try to expunge offending applications. I know there must be a linux correlate of this for similar emergencies. Perhaps there are several. Can anyone enlighten me. I know about the Process Management tool, but what if nothing responds to a mouse click. What should I try before hitting the restart button.
I have SuSE 7.1
Thank you.
