Sorry, I can't tell you what version is with 7.3. What I can tell you is that I have had a samba 2.2.2 RPM 1.5 days after it was released. :) Now only if I had an FTP mirror to hold it... -- noodlez: Karol Pietrzak PGP KeyID: 0x3A1446A0

I have downloaded some of your RPM's and they have been great - thanks. Any suggestions for RTFMing, specifically which FM to RT wrt creating SuSE RPM's?? I offered him space last night an have not heard back from him yet to offer some of them from my server at home. i have dsl with 128k upload with about 6 gigs or so of space to use. Be glad to keep a few rpms on it for the list used just so that there is not a lot of bandwidth. From all the answers I have gotten from this list i would consider it a nice contribution back to the list.

Thanks much... that's exactly the kind of response that makes it all worthwhile... :) Kudos to Jack Malone: he is providing me with a little space for some of my RPMs! Now that web space for them is not an issue, the best thing you _can_ do is download them, use them, and provide me with feedback...
Any suggestions for RTFMing, specifically which FM to RT wrt creating SuSE RPM's??
What exactly do you mean? A quasi-HOWTO on how to create SuSE- complaint RPMs?
I want to learn how to do this and have the latest SRPM and tarball of XFCE to play with.
That shouldn't be too difficult, as I don't think XFCE uses any scripts. The programs that do, like OpenAFS for example, require a lot more work to get working well. -- noodlez: Karol Pietrzak PGP KeyID: 0x3A1446A0

I tried to install the SRPM with Package Manager and ended up with only XFCE being accessable. (This is my home machine that has a full install so that I can play around and experiment with apps). I managed to recover with no harm done. <grin>. BTW, I use XFCE for about 99% of my work so had I really duffed it it would not have been that bad. Any suggestions wrt the above would be welcome. You can thank Jack Malone for providing the web space. Check out my web site at http://home.earthlink.net/~noodlez84/rpm_packages.html and _use an FTP client_ to download it. For some reason, it doesn't work through web browsers... -- noodlez: Karol Pietrzak PGP KeyID: 0x3A1446A0

I have looked at your web-site. The page say's, that the samba 2.2.2-rpm is tested with SuSE 7.2. I have made a fast and very little tested upgrade to SuSE 7.3. I noticed, that smb.conf and smbpasswd is moved fra /etc/ to /etc/samba/. Do we need a special rpm for SuSE 7.3? mvh... Morten Christensen

I think the /ect/samba is the default for the newer samba releases now. been that way when i upgraded to 2.2.2.1a also. jack Jack Malone jack@malone.tyler.com http://www.ballistic.com/~jemalone Luke 4:18-19 "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. I have used the 2.2.2-rpm. Now testparm looks for smb.conf in /etc/. And the 7.3 install placed it in /etc/samba/. Do I need to say, that samba isn't working. I fear, we need a special rpm for SuSE 7.3. mvh... Morten Christensen
