Help request: KPowersave Translations

Hi, we working currently on the next stable release (v0.6.0) of KPowersave [1] for the upcoming SUSE 10.1 Final release. Now we need some help to translate all strings to the actually available languages. The current po files are available in the SVN [2] or all as a tar.bz2 from [3]. See below for the current state of translation for all languages. All help to translate the files would be really appreciated. We also need help to translate the KPowersave handbook to more languages (currently only en,bg,hu and cs). For the current version of the handbook see [1] or [4]. Thanks for your help and let us know if you plan to translate something. What does "file kpowersave_po_files.tar.bz2" tell you? I bet it's HTML ;) Use your browser to browse to the location Danny pointed out early and click the download link... Regards Christoph

:-( I rather just use wget. Opening a browser just for that is just odd. houghi -- There was a young lady from Hyde Who ate a green apple and died. While her lover lamented The apple fermented And made cider inside her inside.

As soon as possible. We are latish in the translation process, because we implemented at least some new features during the beta phase. I think as deadline we could set 13.02.2006 15:00 (MET) to get the translations in the SUSE 10.1 RC1. But also later translations would be appreciated and added for the next package or updates. Thanks, Danny

Hi! I have translated the zh_CN.po ( bz2 file ) in the attachment. Please check it. 2006/2/4, Danny Kukawka <dkukawka@suse.de>:

Please do not send HTML email to the list, it makes it very hard to follow in the archives and places a burden on the list members that only have a metered dial-up connection available to them. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998

Hi Danny, I have a couple of questions: 1. how is it possible to coordinate with other people in order not to carry out the same task at the same time? 2. it is quite a challenge to translate a small chunk of text out of its context. How can I find a way to put those messages in the right context? Cheers, -mw On 2/3/06, Danny Kukawka <dkukawka@suse.de> wrote:

I think the best is, you wrote a mail to opensuse and powersave-users mailinglist what you plan to translate and so we know that someone is working on the related task. What do you plan to do? I updated the tar.bz2 at our site at forge.novell.com to the current translation state.
2. it is quite a challenge to translate a small chunk of text out of its context. How can I find a way to put those messages in the right context?
You can take a look in the code or start the program in the english version to see the context. If this is not enough, feel free to ask me/us. Cheers, Danny

Hello Danny,

I just want to make sure if I can translate KPowersave to my language, Khmer. @Danny: Or I just download the pot file then translate and then send to you? Soben

This is the way I would propose. Simply download the kpowersave_po_files.tar.bz2 [1] which include kpowersave.pot and translate to your prefered language. Simply mal me the po file and I add the file to the SVN. I updated today the tar.bz2 at forge.novell.com and added als a new file [2] with the current state of translation. I also added the .desktop-file [3] of KPowersave which we also like to translate (two strings per language: Comment and GenericName) to show KPowersave correct in the KDE menu.
