I had the same problem in two situations: 1. on a siemens PC, it would happen if the "disk access mode" or some such setting in BIOS would be set to "other" (as opposed to DOS). I've only seen that setting on Siemens scenic PC. Change the setting to DOS. 2. When I compiled minix support as loadable module, and tried to boot it from a diskette, it would only display LI and then stop. To be able to boot from a diskette, minix has to be compiled in the kernel not as a module. Serguei Bostjan Müller wrote:

try to reinstall lilo with the liner option boot with the boot disk choose boot installed system run yast look for boot configuration add the liner option there that may or may not work YMMV ;-) worked for me in several situations nest woud be to try changing the location either mbr or first bootabe section of harddisk try the liner option first rob

It's fixed - I have added the liner option and it works now (I don't know what liner mode is can anyone explain it to me)

That is weird alright. If it works under windows, then you must be using the wrong video driver under linux, or have it otherwise setup wrong.
