I need a little help, I'm trying to do some Web pages using CGI. I don't know where Apaches root directory for html is located nor the directory for cgi or if it uses the cgi extension. I am using SuSe5.1.
/usr/local/httpd/htdocs for the html files /usr/local/httpd/cgi-bin for the cgi's but you can change that easily in those /etc/httpd/*.conf files
also I have tried multiple times to download a file from the web source <A HREF="http://ftp://ftp.hsdi.com/pub/qddb/sources/hx-examples/"><A HREF="http://ftp://ftp.hsdi.com/pub/qddb/sources/hx-examples/</A">http://ftp://ftp.hsdi.com/pub/qddb/sources/hx-examples/ file quiver-online_tar.gz but it refuses to untar. Will someone else try and see if its just me?
rename it quiver-online.tar.gz do gunzip quiver-online.tar.gz tar xvf quiver-online.tar
Also, I can ftp to my Linux from the ftp in Win95 but not from the program Cuteftp. It connects and then hangs up. Messages are: User jim logged on STATUS:> Logon sucessful COMMAND:> Rest 100 and then I get a perpetual hourglass
Thanks Jim
