Hi everybody, Does anybody know if VMware WS 3.0 supports CD-RW drives? I have Easy CD Creator installed in Windows ME, which is installed in VMware Workstation 3.0, which is installed on SuSE 7.3. I have a Plextor CD-RW drive, and I can't get Easy CD Creator to see it when it is running in Win ME/VMware3.0. I can read other CDs from the drive. Any ideas anybody? Thanks, Jerry

CD-RW in linux is commonly used at scsi-ide emulation. try to enable it, and share it under VM as a scsi device, and tell us if you succeed.

I have tried that. I mapped the cd-rw as a raw scsi cdrom (also tried all the other ways) and Win2000 picked up the drive, but the cd-writing software did not recognize the drive (And then the system would not boot correct until I removed the software...) On winNT I could not get NT to detect any SCSI drive.. -- Andre Truter Software Engineer Registered Linux user #185282 ICQ #40935899 <-------------------------------------------------> < The box said: Requires Windows 95 or better... > < So I installed Linux > <------------------------------------------------->
