Hi All, Just installed by boxed 9.2 on my AMD 64 platform and was surprised to notice java was not integrated with mozilla as is on the i386 install I have running on another of my platforms. Sure would like to see java working here but not sure what's up. Could anyone please lend a hand? Thanks in advance, Phil

Java is 32-bit and mozilla is 64-bit, so they are not compatible. You can install a 32-bit mozilla/firefox and use the 32-bit plugins. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ... I just noticed Linux AMD64 RPM in self-extracting file (jdk-1_5_0_03-linux-amd64-rpm.bin, 40.41 MB) from java.sun.com, don't know how long this was around, grabbing it now. Which download are you looking at? This is the one I found: <http://java.sun.com/> -> Popular Downloads: "J2SE 5.0" <http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp> -> "Download JRE 5.0 Update 3" <https://jsecom16a.sun.com/ECom/EComActionServlet> -> Accept License "Linux AMD64 RPM in self-extracting file (jre-1_5_0_03-linux-amd64-rpm.bin, 15.00 MB)" As you see, they claim it's 15 MB and just to confirm, I downloaded it and confirmed that number: -rw-r--r-- 1 rschulz users 15M 2005-05-30 06:49 jre-1_5_0_03-linux-amd64-rpm.bin

He was looking at the development kit, i.e. jdk, while you were looking at the runtime environment, i.e jre, thus the size difference. And for the original poster, AFAIK, the 64 bit java from SUN does not have a 64 bit java plugin for the 64 bit mozilla. I used the 64 bit 1.4.2 from Blackdown, which does. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Registered Linux user 231871

Right. Gotcha. But the OP only needs the JRE.

Blackdown?! Are they still around? I thought they were "bought out" by Sun?

Do you have that on the suser-jmorris repository?? Didn't see it. I went to Blackdown & freshmeat and they only have it in bzip2 or debian. Bob S.
