Hi Suser's, I had installed Suse 7.0 (2.2.16-SMP) and it does not detect my sound card. I enabled the PnP Os support in my CMOS. My sound is an Xwave USB. I tried the sound card setup in yast2 and it detects Fortmedia Inc, Xwave Q83000A [FM801] and hit the next button and displayed a message "The Kernel Module snd-card-fm801 for sound support could not be loaded." My suse copy is just a single cd i think this is an ISO copy. Thanks Jonathan

I don't understand this. PnP is for ISA cards. How come your card is USB? Are you sure?

I've got Jaton SonicWave-SR4 PCI sound card with FM801 chip on it. The system is 7.1 with kernel 2.4.2, alsa version 0.5.10-5. I did sound setup from yast2. Sound just works. -Kastus
Thanks
