It might be helpful if you could expand on "does not work." What does and doesn't it do? "r.a.j. farla" wrote:

IBM has a released a beta of toppage for linux. Downside it seems very slow and unstable to me. [Might be a conflict with XFree4.0] It also uses wine. I don't know how much that is an issue. You also can't run it in 24bit colour mode. Have you installed the modem with YaST? As far as I know, this only creates a symlink for /dev/modem, but it may help. I presume you've run 'wvdialconf' to set up wvdial, and you have the correct 'phone number and so on. If you've done all of this, and it still doesn't work, send the last few lines of the output of wvdial to the list (masking usernames, etc.). Hope you get it working, Chris -- Apologies to everyone who has been waiting for replies off me over the past few weeks - I've been away from my computer. I'll try to catch up with my email over the coming days, but don't be surprised if you get a reply in a month's time... __ _ -o)/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Chris Reeves /\\ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / ICQ# 22219005 _\_v __/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
