I would like to take a JPEG file and use it as background in fvwm. The current background is a xpm file. How do I convert a jpeg into a xpm? Sam, Well, if you have Gimp installed .. open the file and then save it in the format you want. It works quite well. laters, -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org SuSE 6.3 (2.2.14) ICQ UIN:49268667 ------------------------------------------------------------ " Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom " --Gen. Another alternative: if you have xv installed just Save As... and select xpm. Alvaro Novo

if you got imageMagik installed... then simply use the "convert" command to
convert xpm to jpeg.
e.g ~convert myfile.xpm myfile.jpg
Read the man pages or doc pages on convert command.... there is a LOT you
can do with convert!
hope this helps
