Stu, Recompiling the kernel on my 486DX4-100 SuSE ver 5.1 machine, to reflect the correct processor did not correct the memory problem which reveals itself at shutdown. I will attempt to document the message which is comes up at the command: "shutdown -r now" Please stand by while rebooting the system...
