Is this the day of networking problems? :-) We need a heck of a lot more information that what you have given, such as the Ethernet adapters, how they are setup (ip addresses and such) is they are on a hub or a switch. And how you are connecting from the Me machine. My best guess based on what you have told me is to check your inetd.conf file, your rc.config file too. Try running yast2 (it is not that bad IMHO) and going through the services section. Also, what have you done to the system since it was installed out of the box?
