10.1: No resume after latest kernel update
After upgrade to 2.6.12.21-0.25-bigsmp, my system doesn't resume anymore. Suspend works, resume starts, it even restores the data pages, but when control should go the reactivated kernel, it shows only the screen with the suspend messages. Any hints? hjb

Did you use the bigsmp kernel before? I remember it had problems with resume - but if it worked before, it should continue to work... Seems you are right. Running /boot/vmlinuz.previous (identifies itself as 2.6.16.21-0.25-smp), resume works as it should. hjb

So, the bug is the switch from smp to bigsmp. How did you update? I propose to update to the newer smp kernel now, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj/ SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

In that case please file a bugreport and attach the yast2 log files so that we can check how this happened - and avoid it in the future. thanks, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj/ SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126
