I am using Netscape in Linux and found that some Java program are not working right. I wonder what kind of browser you guys are using and if they are good at right Java program. One example is like the streamer of Datek does not run right. This is a known problem with Netscape - it has a tendency to hand or crash in the presence of Java :( Unfortunately there aren't really any other alternatives around at the moment, so you'll have to just live with it and avoid the sites that crash Netscape :(( Many people are waiting expectantly for the release of the Opera browser, or the next generation Netscape browser (Mozilla), although I do believe Netscape has recentlyy released an updated version of Netscape (4.72 or something) that may be a little more robust. You could try downloading it and see... 4.72 is out, it is nice IMHO, haven't had any problems with it, but then again I have only used it for 2 hours total. If you go into your perfeneces you can disable Java and Java Script and also something called "Sytle Sheets". Disabling Java has 2 benifits, Netscape doesn't curl into the fetal position when you got to web pages on it, and if you have a slow Internet connection (ie 28.8) it doesn't take a half hour to download some applet that says "Bob's Web Page" in animated flames... I haven't had any problems with java script, and have no idea what Sytle Sheets is. Opera Beta is out, I used it for a while, didn't crash on me but allot of the feartures where disabled or buggy. The web browser that comes with KDE is really nice for plain HTML. It shows the page in all it's graphical clean and nice, doesn't have to many feartures, but the plus site to this is that it doesn't have a bunch of feartures to puke up on. Lynx is stable, text only, works can view an ASCII "rip" of the web site, have never seen Lynx crash, but doesn't look as smooth. They are called "Style Sheets". (Your typos are pretty consistent ;-) Their function is to help the webmaster keep a consistent layout style all over a site. Each page can point to one file describing the layout. Then, if the webmaster wants to change the layout of the site, he only has to change one file.
