[opensuse] rv515 m54 mobility radeon x1400 - How do I reset settings in plasma5?
I was trying to configure the two monitor displays and I made the mistake of separating svideo from laptop by a gap. This caused my display to stop working and all I could see were coloured patterns. (This is system settings -> monitor, i.e. systemsettings5) So, how would I reset the display settings? I could see that plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc was updated when I changed the settings. But removing or replacing this file and rebooting didn't solve the problem. Not even removing the whole of .config solved the problem. Eventually I had to move /home/user to /home/user2 and then recreate /home/user. Supplementary question: I find that sometimes when I boot the TV does not display properly, there are coloured lines etc. If I reboot a few times it starts properly. Is there a way to reset the graphics card without rebooting? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

drop to multi-user/init 3/runlevel 3 or configure your own "target" runlevel w/o graphics, ie: text mode I just created your environment, a gap between monitors, on my system and the only "distortion" I see is it streached my screen display somewhat and moved two instances of gkrellm to the "wrong" monitor. and when corrected gkrellm appeard on the opposite side of the correct monitor. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
