Apparently, it is a TRiTON FX(430?) chipset from Intel. I have now wasted 45 minutes on the Intel homepage to see if I can get the information about sort of this little outdated board - no. Not even the search function knows about TriTon fx and what I would like to know is the maximum of addressable memory that this board and its chipset can handle. Is there anyone of you knowing how to get that info? Thanks! Do what you like, Oliver, but I stand by my earlier recommendation. If your performance degrades by adding more than 64M to that machine, you have been warned. If I were you, I'd slap a Voodoo Banshee PCI card into it with an Intel eepro100 NIC, and an es1371 or es1373 sound card and call it "good". Seems to me that this configuration would make a very nice web box, MP3 player, or an even better file server with a good SCSI card (Adaptec 78xx or a Tekram 390) and a few disks. -- -=|JP|=- Need a good geek? What about try a mobo web pages, and see if they have old motherboard with i430FX chipset. try: http://www.asus.com.tw http://www.msi.com http://www.abit.com http://www.ecs.com

Ok, this is the important line and the most important part is this 2A59CF54C. The 2A59C id's the chip set. The F5 shows who made the MoB. In your case it was made by Fugutech. The 4C is, sometimes, the model number. Anyway, try to find Fugutech, they should have the info for you. If not, email me as much info that you have on the MoB and I'll see what I can find in my files.
Thanks! Olli

That's pretty neat. Let's not forget that Linux-2.4 *can* produce some very verbose output concerning the motherboard. I had a Tyan Trinity 400 (I forgot the actual model number), and dmesg showed nearly a full page of data concerning the manufacturer, model, revision, and so forth. -- -=|JP|=- Need a good geek?
