[opensuse] compiz effects
I have the cube working for switching screens. But I when I use sphere or cylinder, it's just the cube in the sphere or cylinder. How can I get to look like a ball or some other neat things? Not that the cube isn't cool, but it's kinda boring too. I have compiz, compiz-fusion and both develop packages installed. -- Michael S. Michael, It's quite simple really, first setup "Desktop Cube" in cccsm. Then setup "Rotate cube" and set "zoom = 0.5", The in new "Cube Reflection and Deformation" set "reflection intensity ~ 0.65 and Deformation to Sphere. That's it. Oops, I forgot to say: Also in "Cube reflections and deformations" set "Aspect Ratio" ~ 0.8 (otherwise, you get an 'egg' not a sphere.... -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E. Have you updated to compiz 0.7.8-8? You need to use the XGL repository to upgrade: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XGL/ The cylinder and sphere deformation didn't come out until compiz 0.7.6. Just add the correct repo for your install, either: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XGL/openSUSE_10.3/ or http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XGL/openSUSE_11.0/ and then either use yast or zypper to upgrade all compiz packages and fusion icon package and emerald packages and you will have the new functionality available. After the upgrade, you should have the following packages installed: 13:31 alchemy~> rpm -qa | grep compiz && rpm -q fusion-icon compiz-fusion-plugins-main-0.7.8-3.2 compiz-0.7.8-8.1 compiz-emerald-themes-0.6.0-16.1 libcompizconfig-0.7.8-3.3 compiz-fusion-plugins-extra-0.7.8-4.1 compiz-kde-0.7.8-8.1 compiz-emerald-0.7.8-2.3 compizconfig-settings-manager-0.7.8-2.3 python-compizconfig-0.7.8-2.3 fusion-icon-0.0.1_080201-3.1 -- David C.
