Hello, &, thanks ~ my problem was, the editor "Joe" froze, while I was using Joe, as root, on tty1 Killall -9 joe did not succeed to get rid of frozen Joe .. . . So, I thought, IF, I can find PID number for root's logon tty1 , then, I can get rid of frozen Joe :) best wishes ____________ sent on Linux ____________
