I dont know how xirc is setup but have you tried a few of the undernet ones in xirc? Here are perhaps a few that may help:

Thanks! Xirc is supposed to install with a default list of servers, but it didn't install with a list....installed it twice. Anyway, I'm adding a few at a time as I can find them.
