Gunnar which version are you using? where did you get it from? have you updated recently? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Well, the message is fairly self-explanatory, isn't it? At some point you installed a newer version of amarok, perhaps from the build service or packman, and then it was downgraded I suggest a rescan Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

the files are all in $HOME/.kde4/share/apps/amarok if you delete that directory you will be able to start with a blank amarok and you can start the rescan Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
You normally don't delete with Unix/Linux. File are backup and archived. Try renaming the Amarok file then rescan the backup file. file=folder [rename the Amarok folder] On Sun, 2012-10-14 at 17:32 +0200, Anders Johansson wrote:

No it work, thank you. When I used Amarok earlyer it shows the name of the artist and the song that I play, but not now. I think that i used Exine as the backend. Now I have to use gstreamer to get sound from Amarok Gunnar -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

The xine phonon backend has been deprecated for forever. This has nothing to do with Amarok, or even KDE, it has to do with a lack of development on xine itself. -Todd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I'm /constantly/ having problems with Amarok. If it's not the db, it's the treasure hunts for plugins, addins, etc. I've given up on it. Every up-version is more problematic than the last. I found Clementine, which says it's a rewrite of Amarok. It seems so far to be relatively stable: It has not yet screwed up it's db and the plugin treasure hunt is much shorter. It also seems faster and it seems to use less CPU while running. Clementine might be a better alternative for you as well. jd -- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
I think XMMS kicks ass http://www.xmms.org/ if I didn't already have a media player I would use that ||xmms2 in the package manager...|| does not as far as I know play video. currently using banshee, and find it to be ok. -e On Tue, 2012-10-16 at 09:43 -0700, j debert wrote:

I use Amarok only as a "radioplayer". But I will try XMMS and Clementine. :-) Gunnar -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

If you mean internet "radio" both XMMS and Clementine will do it. I prefer XMMS because it's not as resource-greedy. jd -- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I'am very happy with amarok 1.4. It's still in the official repos, package: kde3-amarok. cu, Rudi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
