Hi all, Any ideas when JDK 1.5.10 and JDK 6 are going to be added to the opensuse reps? Regards, Behi -- "Science is a differential equation. Not gonna happen in 10.2.
Of course it's not quite ideal, you can install it yourself using Sun's own release. They offer both tarball and RPM packaging. Here are the URLs for Java 6: - Overview <http://java.sun.com/javase/6/> - Downloads <http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp>

Why not? I know that you can get it from SUN, but with that installer you can not get it to run properly on SUSE linux. Java is one of the most important platforms... Personally, I moved development of some things to windows because of this. I know it's SUN's fault that the installer can not install it to SUSE properly (meaning that it works for all users and not just to the one that installed it), but knowing who to blame doesn't help. Bottom line is that if it's not available fro SUSE, then it's not. :-( -- HG. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

JDK 1.5.10 came with one of the last official openSUSE patches. And I fetched JDK 6 from some sort of test channel from openSUSE's build services: <http://software.opensuse.org/download/Java:/addon:/test/openSUSE_10.2/> HTH Franz -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Great! I'll try that URL. Thanks! -- HG. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
