Hi: I have Suse 9.1. First, as the user currently using the X display, I did xhost +localhost Then I su -l to another user, then try to run an X program like konqueror. But it fails with the messages: Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: No protocol specified konqueror: cannot connect to X server :0.0 What am I missing? Thanks. -- _____________________ Christopher R. Carlen crobc@earthlink.net Suse 9.1 Linux 2.6.5

The command is xhost +local: but prefer to use sux instead unless you are very very sure that no one can get to your machine, even as user nobody

There is a nice script supplied bu SuSE which handles all the gory details of this for you, simply use sux instead of su HTH Dylan -- "I see your Schwartz is as big as mine" -Dark Helmet
