[opensuse] Not connected to D-Bus server in 12.2
So I've created the mbr (ref. my message last week), and the WinXP.vmdk for my xp installation under VirtualBox. Now I try to create the virtual machine, and when I try to navigate to the .vmdk, the file select dialog window refuses, saying "Could not start process Cannot talk to klauncher: Not connected to D-Bus server." I had the idea from eavesdropping on you Real Experts that the whole system depended upon D-Bus. Clearly I don't understand something, but the immediate problem, of course, is to get the virtual machine manager working again. I tried rebooting, but that didn't change anything. I'm using VB4.2 directly from Oracle, since they claim to have a functioning suse rpm. Might that be a problem? VirtualBox was a bit regressed by the current dbus-1 security update. We are preparing a follow up dbus-1 update. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Oh, thank you, Marcus! I was feeling really good about following the instructions on the web and getting the claimed results (which often doesn't happen for me) until I got here and the whole thing seemed to collapse. Waiting anxiously for the update. This will allow my wife (forced into Windows by her school's slavery to Microsoft) to share her computer with me without our having to wait for restarts every time we need to swap. jp -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

So, Marcus, how will I know when I can get a VM? I've been trying with each update (even those that didn't seem to apply), and have seen no change. Do I have a different problem, or am I still waiting for dbus-1? jp -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Virtualbox throws the same error here when trying to select an iso image as boot CD. I tried to downgrade, install the RPM from Oracle but nothing worked. JC -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
