Problem with two network interface cards (NIC)
Hi, I run SuSE Linux 7.3, kernel 2.4.10 - 4GB on my PC. When I install a second NIC (eth1), then eth0 will not take/accept any IP address from the DHCP server at my ISP. I connect to the Internet over a cablemodem. As soon as I remove the second NIC from the PC, eth0 works again properly. I have tried to configure the NICs with Yast2 and to edit the configuration files by hand. No luck. I have no problem to run the same two NICs on the same PC when I run Windows 2000 Pro (Dual boot). The two NICs are both 3Com Etherlink XL PCI Combo (3C900-Combo). I have never seen any error message. There is no IRQ conflict. Anyone with a good idea? Thank you for your time. Kind regards, Leif Edvin
