Hello I just got ADSL and wanted to install SuSE 7.2 from ftp. The problem is when I should load the module for my network card (NE2000 ISA) I get an errormessage: Failed to load module "ne"! VSF: Disk change detected fd(2,0) VSF: Can't find a Minix or Minix V2 filesystem on device 02:00 VSF: Can't find an ext2 filesystem on dev(2,0) What's wrong? /Jonas

I'm not sure, but that sounds a bit like disk error. If I were you, I'd create another modules disk: fdformat /dev/fd0h1440 dd if=/path/to/modules of=/dev/fd0 --jq
bootdisk in suse ftp main distribution directory is a little bit buggy. you must use the one from .../update/7.2/bootdisk. modules2 disk what is also needed is ok. ain Jonas Söderholm wrote:

Better now! The installationprogram found the network card, but not ftp-server. Had this problem since version 7.1 (card found, no internet) which I have on CD-ROM. It works in 6.4 and Windows... Any ideas? /Jonas Ain Vagula wrote:

If you are from sweden and have Telia ADSL (rätt gissat ?) you have to login at login1.telia.com, in your SuSE 6.4 installation, reboot or use reset-button, quickly startup the 7.2 floppy, use the same ip and gateway you got in your 6.4 installation, using DHCP, and connect to the ftp server. You have to be quick so that Telia does not throw you out because of inactivity during the reboot. /Stefan
No, I've got BoNet ADSL. Just have to enter IP-adress, DNS and Gateway. No login needed. At least when it works... Stefan Nilsen wrote:

Welcome to my nightmare :) I have not checked for updated boot disks for the last two weeks, but we aware that the previously available 'updated' boot disks still contain the same error as the original boot disks - the ne.o driver is no good and gives myriad unresolved symbol errors. If you ever get SuSE 7.2 installed via ftp, particularly with an ne2000 network card I'd really like to know about it. Right now I've written off 7.2 as too buggy to take seriously (I mean, if it can't even be installed....)
