Hi, I forgot who asked the question but here is soem info related tot the original SuSE boot screen (green and white with lizzard). The option is under framebuffers as config_fbcon_splashscreen=y. This is the SuSE default settign so it should be there. As you mentioned, you have a plain installed system. In SuSE 7.2, 2.4.4 this screen only appears if you boot 800x600.
