Could someone please tell me if this is the right list for Suse Slick. -- Cheers, Ian...

Depends on what aspects of Slick you wish to discuss. This list is about openSUSE community discussions. Some Slick related issues might fit here - but technical help/support does not. cb400f
It's sort of a tech support question. What I was wondering is, the main software is all locked and doesn't update via YOU, is this something that can be changed? You constantly shows there are updates but when I do the online update nothing updates. On Wednesday 17 May 2006 18:56, Martin Schlander wrote:

The copy I installed I got with the most recent copy of Linux User, so I too hope it's still alive. On Wednesday 17 May 2006 20:52, jdd wrote:

I always thought that it was one of the best new (well at least to me) ideas that I saw on the OpenSUSE web-page. Is it still alive? Does anybody know? -- HG.

I see it as well and also with other posters, so it might be a hickup on the openSUSE mailinglist-server. -- houghi http://houghi.org http://www.plainfaqs.org/linux/ http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html

Which is quite amusing as I just saw the magazine Linux Format in a newsagent here, and on disc on the the front cover in big green letters "openSUSE SLICK". Peter Flodin.

I hope you're going to stop causing useless traffic and double-size threads on the list by sending mails like that. If you want to chat, use IRC, not mailing-lists *please*, it's causing interesting threads to drown into off-topic chit-chat again and again. If you're in such a bad need of communication, use IRC or Jabber. I'm on a thread on SLICK. I'm interested on SLICK? I never could make my hand on a working SLICK If somebody speak of a SLICK version available on a magasine, I don"t think it's OT to ask if this version is usable. what's the heck here? don't you think there are enough boring threads you want to make things worst? did you buy this magasine? do you know what version of SLICK this is or is this totally garbage? jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos

Pascal, I totally agree with your sentiment, and I am not sure wether your email was directed to the list in general and the particular thread happend to go by (and was the straw that broke the camel's back). I hope so , because there sure are worse offenders that the ones you chose. -- Peter 'Pflodo' Flodin peter@flodin.net (email, jabber, Google Talk)

It's the April issue of Linux Format. It doesn't say which version of Slick anywhere (don't know if there's more than one version of it) - but it's KDE 3.4.2, Koffice 1.4.1 etc. Don't know how well it works. OT: I just added a small section on updating on 10.1 to this page - like you requested in another thread: http://en.opensuse.org/Using_10.1#Updates Martin Schlander

seems to be 10.0 and to date only thing not working (on my first test machine, a laptop with winME) is that grub failed to setup on it's own partition. i'll try on a clean machine before i put in a bug though. hm, as an afterthought, does anyone know if there is a bugzilla group for slick? oh, and it's the UK Linux Format, April 2006, No.LXF78D, not the Us version, if anyone wants it. scsijon --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-help@opensuse.org

I don't think so (but I don't know for sure) normally the discussion on SUPER/SLICK should continue on the opensuse-optimise mailing list (if nobody offers better) jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-help@opensuse.org
