And now, of course, 0.82.1 is out... From http://gaim.sourceforge.net/ChangeLog: version 0.82.1 (08/27/2004): Bug Fixes: * Fix a crash when changing the preference for how to display buttons on conversation windows * Remove a stray printf() when beginning new conversations and logging is enabled

I'm not sure my memory on this is correct, but if it is, my previous install, using the package I got Guru's RPM, included K menu entries for launching Gaim. Since you were the first with 0.82 (let alone 0.82.1), I'm running your RPM now, but there is apparently no K menu entry for launching it. It's not a big deal, really, since I keep it running all the time, so the rare occasions when I need to manually start it is not a problem. Really, I was just wondering if this is a packaging issue? In other words, might the Guru's RPM package have created the menu entry but yours did not? If that's the case, perhaps you could add the menu next time 'round. Anyway, thanks again for being so responsive (and sorry to add to the load on your server--it appears a little stressed this morning!). Randall Schulz

yep, could be. I never noticed the K entry menu, so never thought about it. if requested, starting 0.83 i will also add the menu entry since i usually pack it the first. Josephine ps: yep , server is full..looking for mirrors. any amateurs out there to help a little?

Another thing you might want to consider Josephine, is to compile this to go into the proper directories as SuSE has them setup. Presently your rpm puts Gaim into /opt/kde3 and Gaim is not a KDE program, but should go into /opt/gnome. You also may want to compile, if you are using a rpm spec file, a src.rpm and make it available. Just some things I noticed and thought should be brought to your attention if you are going to provide these for others. :o) Presently compiling 0.82.1 now...
