Probably you use automount, and there is no disc.
I also get the following :-
Mar 29 08:51:01 desktop kernel: keyboard.c: can't emulate rawmode for keycode 272
I have no idea.
And this:- Mar 29 08:51:13 desktop gconfd (pburness-7454): Received signal 1, shutting down cleanly
Normal. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

Phil Burness wrote: plugged in but no disk in the drive. I would suggest that you insert a disk, possibly the last one you used, and then unmount the drive but leave it plugged in. Next time you intend using it insert a disk and mount the device. Remember to unmount when completed. Just my 2c's worth as I remember seeing something 'similar' on that other OS.

And this:- Mar 29 08:51:13 desktop gconfd (pburness-7454): Received signal 1, shutting down cleanly You got me, again no idea, sorry.

I'm thinking that it could be a non-standard keyboard, one that the keyboard module doesn't know how to handle. Perhaps it is receiving unknown keycodes. It could be a kernel bug... who knows. It wouldn't hurt to report that one to SuSE's feedback.

gconfd is the configuration daemon of gnome, I think. It is a normal message, no error. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
