[S.u.S.E. Linux] X Setup
![](https://seccdn.libravatar.org/avatar/febbf9faabb4a5b82bfa0da1ddf90791.jpg?s=120&d=mm&r=g)
I cannot get X windows setup. Can anyone tell me the meaning of "errno = 111". I have a Cirrus 5446 card and a Tystar 14" monitor and have tried both XFsetup and config versions to try to get it working but no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I want to get it going so I can run StarOffice and replace all my M$ stuff. Dennis, First, try the README.cirrus in the XF86 docs. I've got a Cirrus 5426, and there's a ton o' useful stuff in that file. Second, look at the message(s) in the err.X file that the Xserver produces when it tries to start. That may give you a clue as to what section of the Config file is bad. Third, are you providing good values for the Vert and Horiz sync/refresh rates? If there's no match with the modelines, the XServer won't start. Finally, try adding Chipset: "clgd5446" Clockchip: "cirrus" to the device section of Config.
