Greetings all - - I have just upgraded to Xfree86 4.0.1 and KDE2 with SuSE 7.0 personal. Everything went good except now my mouse cursor is a large (3/4") square, how can I recover my arrow pointer? I downloaded the updates from SuSE's ftp site. Any help wpold be appreciated... Jerry wjc@lcc.net

I am using an infamous nvidia card -- TNT Vanta, and had exactly the problem you describe. I fixed it inelegantly by (step by step) 1) Boot to the console LILO linux init 2 2) Log in as root 3) Ditch or rename /etc/X11/XF86Config 4) Run the hoary old xf86config utility (Make sure /usr/X11/bin/xf86config is a sym link to xf86config4, or run /usr/X11/bin/xf86config4 directly) This will produce a very basic /etc/X11/XF86Config, which in my case included the correct mouse pointer! After this (making sure X runs correctly) you can use sax2 for further configuration, telling it to use the already existing config file as a basis On Thursday 30 November 2000 15:43, Jerry wrote:
