Is it possible / adviseable to upgrade SuSE 9.2 with Linux kernel 2.6.8.2x to kernel 2.6.11? with other distros it is supposedly EASY. But YOU shows I'm at current level which is NOT 2.6.11 ? -- Greetings from Humboldt County California

The question to answer is "what is in 2.6.11 that you really, really need?" You can always compile your own kernel.

SuSE 9.2 doesn't handle my edgeport4 usb>serial adapter. It is an older model. Curiously, SuSE 9.0 seems to work fine. Support at edgeport have a kernel patch for 2.6.8 but hint that moving to 2.6.11 may be easier. Neither are guaranteed to work. I have never done either (patch or kernel compile).
