Re: [SLE] swap signature no valid

Swap devices have to be prepared with mkswap (i think that is the name) Cliff
hello
I've recently changed my HD and can't get back any valid swap partition.
with fdisk (and yast1) I've chosen a swap type on a logical partition of my 30Go HD.(I don't think a primary partition is needed for swap) During the boot a /dev/hda5 swapon gives a "swap signature not valid" error. I don't think I have to format it and even yet this option is not valid in yast for this partition. my /etc/fstab files is (as far as I remember, I'm not in front of my computer) /dev/hda1 10Mo /boot (primary) /dev/hda2 5Go /mnt/windows (primary) /dev/hda3 17Go / (primary) /dev/hda4 (extended) /dev/hda5 180Mo swap (logical)
Is there any options I've forgoten ?
I've got another question : I'm thinking of buying a network card. Are NetGear card ok ? (Any point to the suse supported hardware database would be appreciated)
Thanks
Yann
