Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] USR Sportster Modem Setup
if your modem is plug and play (and i think it is), you will also have to install isapnptools and configure linux to recognize your pnp devices. I had to do the same with my Motorolla VoiceSrfr to get it to work. It's pretty tricky to do as well. Linux doesn't like plug and play devices. <<Tony>>

I am unable to get my modem to start the dial sequence. It is a USR Sportster 28.8 Faxmodem. I have run PPPsetup.v.1.98 by Kent Robotti and when I enter ppp-go nothing happens. I have redone the setup three times with no improvement. Any ideas would be appreciated. I have also tried both the default initialization in the script and "AT&F1" as per the modem manual. I am running 5.1. on a Pentium 100
