[opensuse] ifup-dhcp in rescue system does not work
Hi, could some kind soul enlight me please, how to start eth0 with dhcp in the rescue system of 11.1? Former rescues allowed me to use ifup-dhcp eth0, but with 11.1, it silently ignores my request, and ifconfig insists in having no configuration for eth0 :-(. Normally it should be as simple as dhcpcd eth0 Doesn't that work? Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

ifup-dhcp is independent of the installed dhcp client. And the availablility of ifup-dhcp makes it easier for people which use different Linux vendors beside SUSE. Therefore Hans-Peter has a good reason to ask. @Hans-Peter: Please file a bug. This is a regression. Work-around - just assign a static address using ifconfig. /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (8.2°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
