[opensuse] Amarok doesn't start after upgrade to 11.3
This is what I get in conslole when running amarok: amarok: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libamaroklib.so.1: undefined symbol: _ZTIN6TagLib3MP44FileE I didn't manage to find any solution via google. There was an advice to remove amarok files in /home/user/, but I didn't find any. I'm stuck. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I'm not sure what you mean. Common online update doesn't have anything to update. Explain, please. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I'm not sure what you mean. Common online update doesn't have anything to update. Explain, please. I listen music with amarok saturday morning, but afternoon I do the last update for kde 4.4.95 (factory) and when I read your first e-mail I notice that amarok is not loaded, the then I trying run it and it not loaded. I go again to yast update and see news updates again. I do it and amarork is running again. This is what I do.

You can try with a new user, if that works you can move the amarok settings and files in ~/.kde4/share/apps/amarok and ~/.kde4/share/config/amarokrc. Keep them to report a bug, if it really crashes because of them. symbol lookup error however might also hint to mismatching packages, i.e. the amarok you have installed was not compiled against your Qt or KDE version. So check your amarok package's source and your KDE's. You can do that by opening YaST and searching for amarok, then click on the "version" tab. You can do the same for the KDE packages such as kdebase. If a package is marked as red or blue in YaST you should "update" it to a version available from the version tab. Make sure you do not have any old 11.2 repos enabled or any Qt repos you do not need. Thanks, Sven I removed all non-default repos, only default 11.3 repos left. I updated all the packages from the repos. This solved some other small bugs, but not one with the amarok. Some packeges which are not tied to any repo (previously installed from i.e. packman) are still red, but I can't update them - only remove. Any other suggestions? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You need a version of taglib that matches your version of amarok. taglib-1.6.2-1.9 includes the missing symbol, higher versions should probably work. Regards, Peter -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Amarok 2.3.0-7.1-x86_64 or 2.3.1.60svn... from Playground Taglib taglib-1.6.2-1.9 or higher The same result. There was a try in the past to compile taglib and amarok myself. It seems to be a reason. How can I remove the previous try? Simple uninstall via YaST seems not to help Thanks -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

# rpm -qa | grep -i tag libid3tag-0.15.1b-163.1.x86_64 perl-HTML-Tagset-3.20-49.1.x86_64 ctags-2009.12.21-3.1.x86_64 Finally I've solved the problems. I removed from zypper everything that contains taglib of libtag in it's name. It seems the problem was caused by libid3tag, so I removed it to. I removed libid3tag rpm to. There was a problem with "mpd" package. It had to be unistalled but removal process was unsuccessful. So I had to remove /etc/init.d/mpd and create a new empty mpd with 777 permissions. After that I managed to uninstall everything I needed and reinstalled everything I needed (there were other packeges tied to taglib - vlc, ktorrent and so on.). Now amarok runs ok. It seems the problem was becaues of my previous (several weeks before) tries to compile amarok and taglib manually. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
