I have a Canon A70 which I've tried to get connected for several weeks. I manage to connect it to digikam and gtkam (via the PTP driver in gphoto) but every time I click on an image to try to do something with it, the program crashes. Any thoughts? I ended up buying a card reader to resolve this issue, but I would still like to get it connected. I know the A70 isn't supported. I had a similar problem with an A60 and the PTP driver. I now use a newer cvs version of gphoto2, which has dedicated drivers for the A60 & A70, and I can download images fine. ttfn, nik

Hi, I spent a hours fiddling with various programs trying to get my Fuji FinePix 2600 working in such a way as to allow me to edit/copy, etc., pictures. I then realised that with USB hotplug working a little icon to a device called /media/sda1 suddenly appeared when I plugged the camera in and switched it on. I can now edit/copy/print, etc., pictures using gimp, etc. Might be worth trying... Andy On Tuesday 23 September 2003 10:36, Nik wrote:

I upgraded the libgphoto2 last night and it didn't help. I'll try upgrading gphoto2 also. Tom -- Tom Nielsen Neuro Logic Systems 805.389.5435 x18 www.neuro-logic.com

Now that I think about it, being at home, I don't think I installed it right. Can you give me an idea how to compile the two programs? I think I compiled one or two programs so far in my life and that was with some serious hand-holding. I have 8.2 installed and I installed the two programs with the CDs. I downloaded: libgphoto2-2.1.2.tar.gz gphoto2-2.1.2.tar.gz Thanks, Tom
