RealOne or RealPlayer cannot get content from Internet
Hello list, I am trying to get either RealOne or RealPlayer to get streaming content off the Internet and not being too successful! I have a machine that is acting like a router/firewall that the machines in the network connect to. It is running SuSEfirewall2 and the version of linux on both this server and clients is SuSE 8.2. I have tried to tell the players that were mentioned above to even try and get the content through http but still nothing. Well I rebooted and tried it under the Windows. It works perfectly fine! Without me doing any reconfiguration to the firewall. Anyone have any ideas why it is not working under linux but it is working in Windows? Thanks! -- Marshall "Nothing is impossible, we just do not have all the anwsers to make the impossible, possible."

I have just one port open for realplayer on the firewall, it is UDP 7070 (FW_SERVICES_EXT_UDP="7070") Then, in realplayer preferences I have set up transport to use this port only (Preferences->Transport->Use specific UDP port ->7070) Also select "Use specified transport" in Network transport half of the window. And realplayer just works. Regards, -Kastus

Ok I will try this. But what is weird is that the windows client attaches just fine without me doing anyting to the firewall. I will report back when I have got the changes done. Thanks! -- Marshall "Nothing is impossible, we just do not have all the answers to make the impossible, possible."

Well it is still no go :( This is a irritating issue. Works with one setup but not another. Weird. -- Marshall "Nothing is impossible, we just do not have all the answers to make the impossible, possible."
