1) Did you ever try to ask this of M$? How far did you get? How much $$ did you pay for getting nowhere? 2) It's complete utter garbage. The vmware which comes with the distribution works perfectly. So you decided to install your own version of vmware, downloaded from somewhere. And it's suse's fault if it doesn't work? Wait a minute.
I have the 2.4.4-64GB-SMP kernel installed. Am I right in saying i need to install the 2.4.4-4GB-UP or something kernel?

This happens every time. I have had very little problems with MS. I am moving to Linux in general because I don't like them. Personally I have paid $0 on MS products, I use NT workstation at work and work pays for it.

Oh really? well tell that to my version of VMware. The first error I get off of a vanilla install was that the verson.h file does not match my running kernel and then when I have fixed that I get the error that VMware will not run with my 2.4.4-64GB-SMP kernel installed which was the kernel that was installed by default when I installed 7.2 personal.

Hmmmmm... ...methinks there is someone here who doesn't bother to do a little research first before attempting to fix the error. Maybe you should have connected to the SuSE Support DB first and checked why you were getting this error... ...it has nothing to do with your kernel version... ...but actually has to do with the fact that you need to compile version checking or something similar to that into your kernel. The packages to compile your kernel come on the SuSE CDs.
