I have an EPSON 900 (not sure about the suffix) which printed okay from Linux. However, IIRC I had to use a lower numbered epson driver. Since I couldn't get the high resolution from gs I now exclusively print to it from Win98 within VMware. I am afraid that is not much help and I am not sure whether my printcap file is still up to date. I remember spending quite some time trying out the various epson drivers to find the one that worked.
