I don't know about everyone else, but I want to know about 7.1 'cause I just totally HOSED my 6.4 installation & figured I might as well upgrade. If 7.1 is imminent, I don't want to go out & buy 7.0.......... What is this with 7.1, people fed up with all the bugs in 7.0 so they need new ones ?

Since we all promised to to skip windows into the bin ... and did so ... Yes, new bugs please! ;-) (but not to soon) Juergen -- =========================================== __ _ Juergen Braukmann juergen.braukmann@gmx.de| -o)/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Tel: 0201-743648 dk4jb@db0qs.#nrw.deu.eu | /\\ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / ===========================================_\_v __/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq

Or for that matter, logon to linux mall or something and get the base 7.0 disk for about $1.99 I did that back in the beginning when I first tried suse (damn that was a long time ago). I wasn't about to spend money on it and find out I didn't like it, since then though, I've bought every release. mc> Mike mc> mc> Cliff Sarginson wrote: mc> > mc> > zzzzzzzzzzzz mc> > mc> > What is this with 7.1, people fed up with all the bugs in 7.0 mc> > so they need new ones ? mc> > mc> > Cliff mc> > mc> Since we all promised to to skip windows into the bin ... and did so ... mc> Yes, new bugs please! ;-) (but not to soon) mc> mc> Juergen mc> mc> mc> -- S.Toms - tomas@primenet.com - www.primenet.com/~tomas SuSE Linux v7.0+ - Kernel 2.2.18 If you're right 90% of the time, why quibble about the remaining 3%?
I need the sendmail from 7.0 for SMTP auth. Is there any problem to install it on 6.4? Egan
After upgrading to SuSE 7 my server no longer is doing Apple Talk / netatalk properly. I restored my share config files from backup and when you browse you can see the shares but you can't open them. any idea what is wrong? I know one is supposed to be able to "upgrade" Linux distributions, but I have usully found it easier to do a complete reinstall -- there aren't any things overlooked from the previous installation to muck up the new installation then. What I usually do is to format all partitions except the /home and /usr/local partitions (which contain the data and config files I want to keep), then do the reinstall, temporarily not using separate partitions for /home and /user/local so as not to interfere with personal files. Adjustments can then be made later -- On Wednesday 24 January 2001 15:42, Michael wrote:
