I'm trying to use Microsofts Unix utilities to access NFS shares. Not good so far.. When I try to connect to the share, it refuses me. On the Linux server, my log shows this: Feb 15 14:55:29 rpc.mountd: refused mount request from siri for /store1/Archives (/): not exported But then, the catalog IS exported.. Any bright ideas on this? # cat /etc/exports /store1/Archives/ 192.168.111.*(ro,root_squash,sync)

Does 'showmount -e' show this NFS share as well? Michael

Yes, it does.. # showmount -e Export list for beata: /store1/Archives 192.168.111.*

Note that it's not a good idea to use wildcards in /etc/exports. If it works it'll be by accident, as the man page points out. You should change the above to 192.168.111.0/24
