Hi Could it be, that You need to set the name-servers manually (with yast2)? Jaska. Joe Dufresne kirjoitti viestissään (lähetysaika Perjantai 16. Tammikuuta 2004 07:51):

One problem that I have run into quite frequently is that the cable modem will actually remember the mac address of the computer it was last attached to. Over here I use roadrunner broadband, and in order to connect the cable modem to another machine I have to power off the cable modem, wait a minute, and power it back on connected to the new computer. When switching back I have to do the exact same thing. -----Original Message----- From: Joe Dufresne [mailto:nqs@tigger.tmcom.com] Sent: Friday, January 16, 2004 12:51 AM To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: [SLE] connecting via cable modem Listee's recently moved, and am trying to hook up my 8.2 box to my roommates cable modem. i've read both the DHCP and cable modem howto's. With my cable modem, I can switch computers, provided I release the dhcp lease before shutting down. Michael Sacco wrote:

I've had similar problems occasionally when moving my laptop between work and home. Sometimes dhcp doesn't renew the lease at home and keeps the ip address and nameservers from work. "dhcpcd -n" often clears that up. Steve
